Will We Win Against Trolls?
So recently we've been learning about trolls from Farhad Manjoo's "Web Trolls Winning as Incivility Increases" and how trolls are just multiplying and people are trying to find ways to prevent or stop them. It's been on my mind for a while about how people on the internet have something to say, whether it's "bad" or "good", no matter what. Yes, there's the First Amendment with the people's freedom of speech, but is there a cost to that freedom? The internet brings so many people together from all corners of the world and we have the ability learn so much about different cultures. But there are those who take advantage of such an amazing opportunity to just crash the party and pit everyone against each other. Those who spend all their time on the internet, but refuse to take the time to use the internet as a learning tool and instead be ignorant. There's nothing wrong with making a mistake online, just so long as the person learns from that mistake and tries to be better. That's all we really can do, right? Just try to be better next time? I think we can win against trolls if we try to use the internet for good and educate ourselves as much as possible about issues and who knows? Maybe trolls will become a fairy tale once again. Is it possible to eliminate trolls this way? Or should we just use force like taking away anonymous messaging? Will trolls ever really go away if we do that? Please let me know your thoughts.

I don't think people like that will ever go away as some people just like seeing others hurt.
