Christmas is coming

My favorite time of year is finally here, I do not only love this time because I receive gifts but because I love to buy my friends and family gifts. I'm usually the person to go above and beyond, and spend way too much money especially on gifts for my boyfriend. Something about shopping for others brings me so much joy, I don't know I just love it. But this year has been a little different. I still have the same feelings towards Christmas and gift buying but this year I don't feel like I need to buy everyone a gift. I'm realizing that I only need to buy gifts for people whom I want to buy a gift for, and not buy certain people gifts because I feel obligated. Instead of buying so many gifts especially for friends I'm trying to spend more time with them. Like with my friends Karla and Kristen, rather than spending money and stressing over what to buy I suggested we set up a day to hang out since we don't always get the chance to spend time together and gifts are really not important. How do you guys feel about gift giving? Do you ever feel obligated to buy people gifts but you don't really want to? Share your gift buying experience please I'd love to hear. :)

  1. Like you, I often find myself going above and beyond when it comes to giving gifts. I don't want to go down as the person who gives bad gifts. But I also agree with you in the fact that sometimes it's not all about the gifts. I think that spending quality time with your closest friends is probably one of the best gifts you could give and receive. I think that I'm going to suggest that my friends and I go out to dinner or something over the break for Christmas instead of exchanging gifts. Thanks for the idea! Enjoy your time with Karla and Kristen!

  2. Thank you Kaitlyn, I hope you and your friends have a great time enjoying each others company instead of stressing over what to buy. :)
