Trolling and Cyberbullying
It seems that multiple posts on the blog are about whether or not cyberbullying and trolling are the same thing. Personally, I think that cyberbullying is a type of trolling, since they are both intended to get a reaction out of someone, though trolling is not always directed at a certain person, unlike cyberbullying. Another reason why I think this is that they are both disruptive, meaning they disrupt the conversation with something that is very off topic. While cyberbullying always hurts someone, which is not always the case with trolling, I still think that cyberbullying is a type of trolling, mostly because they use the same techniques, such as what was mentioned above and having content that is used to intimidate, attack, or harass one or more people. However, I understand why someone would think cyberbullying and trolling are not the same thing, which, from what I have read, is because trolling is usually used to tease someone in a situation that it is expected, such as internet video games. Do you think, are cyberbullying and trolling the same thing, and why?
