Trolling (week 3)

During the weeks that we spent learning about online trolling, I found that the internet isn't all good and that just as with other things in the world, it has its bad side. I've always known about cyber-bullies and trolls - however I've never experienced them myself so I never really gave them too much thought. After this lesson, I've discovered how much of a serious problem they can be to the people that spend their time online. I am aware that trolls can go to an extreme level of offensiveness, but I don't agree that they are reason enough for our online anonymity to be taken away. I know it seems kind of insensitive of me, after hearing about terrible trolling experiences, but I just don't think trolling should jeopardize one of our rights- our right to speak our minds. Some people can only do so behind a false or unknown identity and if we take their anonymity away, we might be taking their right to speak freely as well. Also, there are plenty of other harmless things that can be done behind the saftey of anonymity as discussed in the third article we received.
Anyway, I just thought I'd say that and I wish you guys safe and harmless online experiences.
