In Merriam Webster's Learner's Dictionary, a troll is a person who tries to cause discord in the internet on purpose by posting messages or any type of communication to cause people to argue, become angry, or become unstable emotionally.
Trolls are looked down upon on society because of how rude and inconsiderate they can be on message threads, blogs, and in social media. And usually, the person being targeted by the troll is a good cyber citizen, but what if the troll's target is, for example, a scammer?
There are many videos in YouTube that shows computer engineers, computer geeks, and even hackers trolling "tech support" scammers. I enjoy watching these because it makes me think a lot of how even bad things, e.g. trolling, can be used to create laughter and great video material at the expense of a scum-of-the-earth human being that gets their money by stealing from hard-working people.
I do not feel any remorse or sympathy for the scammer, mostly because I have been scammed myself and know that I am not the only one in world that has lost a lot of money. So I do support trolling on the internet, but only to the wrong people.
