Overpower the Bad with more Good
With anonymity and invincibility breeds potential for hate and instigation. And that occurs all over the internet. Since I barely go on social media anymore except for snapchat (streaks), I have the privilege of not really encountering many internet trolls. But when I would watch youtube videos, the comments section is the cornucopia of immature, rude, disgusting internet users who seem to represent the ugliest parts of society. They appear on even the most casual videos, with no reasonable explanation for a crude comment. It just simply seems to be there to belittle or annoy anyone who will possibly read it. It just makes me question their intentions. Why? Why do they feel thrill with the suffering of another individual? It's sad. And although we have these dark parts of the internet, or even society itself, the bright side is that the presence of these accentuate the best parts of humanity when we encounter them. The compassion, empathy, support, and love makes an even bigger impact on people. For example when you watch the news, it's dominated by really bad events such as a shooting, death, accident, loss, or crime. But when something positive comes up like a dog being rescued, it brings light into the picture and brings some hope for society. Negativity and internet bullies and trolls will never go away, but if we spread more positivity and good vibes towards one another, we are able to overpower the bad.
