But is it worth it?

We are currently the fattest nation with more than 2/3s (68%) of adults are considered to be overweight or obese. That's more than half. The number one reason is no other than our massive food production.

Even though we are home to millions of food industry, not all industry play by the book. Back in 1993 Jack in the Box E. coli outbreak infecting over 732 people killing 4 children. In 2001, two year old  Kevin Kowalck's died from E.coli in which he received from eating a contaminated burger.

Our meat industry feed our cows with corn only because it's cheaper and will fatten up the cow faster. Our chickens are also fed with high amount of corn and are raised in a terrible condition. Some are so fat that they can't even support their own weight, which resulted them from collapsing and dying.

Our way of producing food is harming us and the future of America. With extreme use of sugar, processed foods, GMO's, and high fructose corn syrup, we're putting America's health at risk.

Today, about 1 in 3 American kids and teens are considered obese. That is shocking. Is it really all about making profits? Is endangering millions of Americans health just because it's a cheaper way to produce food worth it? The food industry needs to wake up. It's not always about the money.

  1. This is some scary stuff. No matter how many times I hear about these things I still can't wrap my head around the fact that people are dying because of something they ate. Something they trusted the people would take good care of. We're no better off than the livestock we're eating, full of corn, fat, chemicals, and disease.

  2. It's amazing how all these deaths don't stop these corporations from feeding their life stock all of these chemicals. Our food should be produced like it was before. There is always a chance of someone dying because of what they ate, but those chances can be lowered if we stopped feeding the animals the chemicals they are eating today.
